Spiritual Care
Spiritual care is a vital part of Occoquan Bible Church!
The Bible tells us that as members of the local body of Christ, we are interconnected, and God has placed each of us in this body in order to work together to accomplish the church’s goals.
GriefShare
If you have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you may have found that many people may not understand your deep hurt. GriefShare is a special seminar-support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. It is facilitated by people who understand what you are experiencing. GriefShare features biblical teaching on grief and recovery. We meet on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM. Although it is a 13-week series, GriefShare is designed for you to come at any time, and meetings are held on a continuous cycle.
For more information, please contact Ted Vetter, our GriefShare coordinator.

Benevolence
OBC takes up a benevolent offering on the first Sunday of each month to help those who are in need in our church body and community. We also connect those in need with different resources in our community.
Action in Community Through Service (ACTS) in Dumfries, VA (Homeless Shelter, Food Pantry, Thrift Store, Emergency Assistance)
Streetlight Community Outreach Ministries in Woodbridge, VA (Food Pantry, Clothing Distribution)
Care-Net in Woodbridge and Manassas, VA (Crisis Pregnancy Clinic)
Leadership Training
We offer two 10-week leadership training modules during the summer (“Introduction Christian Doctrine”, and “Biblical Eldership”).
“Introducing Christian Doctrine” (based on Millard Erickson’s text) is an introductory college level theology course. This is a great course for everyone to dig deeper into the Scriptures and grow in understanding our faith.
“Biblical Eldership” (based on Alexander Strauch’s book) is for men who would like to learn more about biblical church government, and those who simply want to be better shepherds of their families.
Baptism
We hold multiple baptism services each year. If you haven’t been baptized, or are interested in learning more about baptism, please contact our Senior Pastor Kyle Austin.
