The OBC Bookshelf and 2020 Reading

The OBC Bookshelf is a ministry resource that provides books to our church family to help us grow in our knowledge of God and in doing life together.
Amounts suggested for donation are generally marked down from our purchase price, and these donations are then reinvested into more resources to our church family.
You will find a variety of resources from books being read in our Ladies’ Book Club, and our Men’s Theology Thursday.
Resources at the bookshelf include books on parenting, marriage, discipleship, theology, spiritual life, and more. We regularly stock titles to accompany our Sunday school and sermon series.
New Recommendations
9Marks’ First Steps series is new, and we are glad to introduce it you. These books are great to work through with people who are new to the Christian faith.
When I Don’t Desire God by John Piper is a great book that accompanies our current Sunday school series.
Oversee God’s People by Bryan Croft is our Theology Thursday book for March. As members of the body of Christ, we all have responsibility to shepherd someone. Don’t let the title intimidate you; this small book is packed with great insight into how to shepherd with wisdom and grace.
We have many more titles, and we invite you to visit the OBC Bookshelf to pick up a title or two!
Reading for 2020
Ladies’ Book Club
We should love the Lord and others with all our hearts and minds, and as thinking Christians we should engage literature with a biblical worldview. With minds renewed by the Word, we are to speak the gospel to the world, and learn how to both resist and engage culture. Our Ladies’ Book Club is a great opportunity to do both.
Ladies’ Book Club typically meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30pm at OBC. If you like to read, enjoy good food and conversation, then you will love the OBC Ladies Book Club. Join us we read from several genres including biographies, fiction, non-fiction and more.
