New Life for the New Year: How Scripture and Prayer Empower Fruitful Endurance

January 6, 2019 Preacher: Rod Fillinger Series: Rhythms of Mercy: Cultivating Habits of Holiness

Topic: New Testament Scripture: Colossians 1

This week we will continue to look at prayer, and how Scripture intake strengthens our prayers, and our prayers strengthen our intake of Scripture. This is not a “do more better” approach to the Christian life. We do not engage, or should not engage, in spiritual disciplines in an effort to make ourselves more acceptable to God. Rather, our spiritual disciplines are an overflow of the Spirit’s work of sanctification in our lives as we are filled with the knowledge of God’s will and walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him.
